About Us

Meraki is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe what happens when you leave a piece of yourself (like your soul, creativity, or love) in your work. That is what the company founder Vanessa (V) does on a daily basis.

She is a mom of two gorgeous busy-body girls and a tea-cup yorkie; wife to a handsome and very supportive husband. She loves being active, has an extensive background in event management, is well travelled and an avid student; with the pipeline dream of obtaining her PhD qualification soon.

But it is ‘Meraki By V’ that provides her with the ultimate creative outlet. Her studio is her happy place, where she enthusiastically and actively:

  • Refurbishes and repaint furniture and decor
  • Salvage curios, décor and furniture
  • Project manage styling projects (homes, expos, restaurants, offices)
  • Does interior design (hard finish choices; soft finishes; accessories; specifying and sourcing items; project management and outsourcing services)
  • Compile exclusive gift hampers
  • Source gifts for corporate functions, weddings, bar mitzvahs, birthdays, bachelorettes and much more…

Vanessa says:

“As a child we are free spirited, we don’t care what people think as we run around naked in the garden, we say how we feel, we do what we love and we know exactly what we like or dislike! But as time ticks on, we slowly start losing ourselves, conforming to what society wants us to be and who we think we need to become to be effective in this world. We forget what really makes us excited and content.

But for a few, there is hope, as we reconnect with our inner child and discover our true calling in this lifetime…even if it is decades later. As soon as you’ve done so, then nothing can stand in your way and you WILL be a great success…because this is your reason for living and you will enjoy every single day from this day onwards. Thus, the ‘Meraki By V’ brainchild was born”.

She lives by her ultimate motto:

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; to do so with passion, compassion, humour, incense sticks, a sunhat, soul-music and my unique style…”
